Union Cab to offer free rides to polling places Nov. 6

In honor of Election Day Nov. 6, Union Cab will offer free rides to and from polling locations to encourage people in and around the Madison community to vote.

Union Cab said in a statement it hopes its efforts will encourage voters to express their voice and allow everybody in the community to utilize their rights as a citizen.

Union Cab began offering free rides last year during the collective bargaining rallies at the Capitol. Since then, it has given 514 rides to and from polls during primary and general elections.

Community Pharmacy, Community Car, and Isthmus Engineering and Manufacturing will partner with Union Cab to support its effort to transport voters.

Cabs will provide service to residences in Madison along with Middleton, Monona, Shorewood, Madison, Blooming Grove, Burke, Maple Bluff and Fitchburg. To access a cab, voters should call 608-242-2000.
