A Madison man is facing charges after attempting to stab a female social worker with a pen while signing paperwork at the Dane County Jail Saturday.
Rondino Fleming, 20, was signing jail forms in the “mental assessment area” for previous charges when he grabbed the social worker around the neck and attempted to stab her with a pen, according to a statement by Dane County Public Information Officer Elise Schaffer.
Officers responded quickly and prevented Fleming from harming the social worker. Deputies immediately escorted Fleming to a segregation cell, according to the police report.
Fleming now faces charges of recklessly endangering safety and displaying disorderly conduct while armed, adding to his previous charges of probation violation, a harassment injunction violation in addition to resisting and obstructing, according to the statement.
