Police pulled over an intoxicated man Monday after he disrupted a downtown restaurant and fled the scene in a car, according to a police report.
Francisco Martinez, 21, walked into Los Gemelos restaurant, located at 244 W. Gilman St., at approximately 9:30 p.m. and threw a beer bottle at a 44-year-old female employee working behind the counter.
According to the report, the employee dodged the bottle but two nearby customers were sprayed with glass shards and beer although no injuries were reported.
The employee told police she did not know the suspect and was unaware of any motive behind the attack.
Witnesses told police Martinez fled in a black vehicle and police pulled him over at approximately 11:15 p.m. on the 100 block of West Gilman Street, where the suspect appeared drunk, according to the report.
Police arrested Martinez for reckless endangerment and cited him for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated after officers found beer bottles in Martinez’s car of the same brand as the one thrown in the restaurant, according to the report.
