A 21-year-old Madison woman was attacked on State Street after she left a downtown bar early Saturday morning, according to a police report.
The victim was walking on the 500 block of State Street when Jason Bogen, a 27-year-old homeless man, used a squirt gun to spray a substance similar to mace in her eyes.
The report said the victim told police her face felt like it “was on fire,” and officers used snow to wash the chemicals off.
Police were not able to locate the squirt gun but found a “police-type” baton on Bogen when they arrested him.
He is being charged with causing bodily harm, carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct, according to the report.
