A group of University of Wisconsin-Madison professors will discuss the university’s international connections in China at a panel Wednesday.
UW-Madison opened the UW-Madison Shanghai Innovation Office as part of the university’s commitment to international educational opportunities such as study abroad programs and research collaboration.
According to a university press release, panelists will look at the evolution of the connection between UW-Madison and China and the effects that relationship may have in the future.
Additionally, panelists will discuss human rights and censorship as well as historical instances when UW-Madison welcomed new groups of students to campus.
Panelists include professors of Asian American studies, East Asian languages and literature, communication arts and political science.
The panel, titled “China in Madison/Madison in China,” will take place 7 p.m. Wednesday in the H.F. DeLuca Forum at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery.
