Supreme Court Justice Patience Roggensack, who is campaigning for reelection this spring, has significantly outraised her opponents, according to campaign finance reports released Thursday.
Roggensack, who will finish her current 10-year term this year, has raised over $55,000 since she started campaigning in September.
Her two opponents, Vince Megna and Ed Fallone, began their campaigns in November and December respectively and have each raised under $10,000. Megna has raised about $7,000, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and Fallone has raised over $5,000.
The three candidates will face each other in a Feb. 19 primary election that will narrow the field to two. The general election will be held April 2.
Supreme Court elections have taken on a partisan tone recently with the last race between current Justice David Prosser and opponent JoAnne Kloppenburg in 2011 becoming contentious due to the perceived conservative and liberal agendas of the candidates.
