Police arrested a 44-year-old man for violating parole Saturday after the man attempted to enter a house on the 300 block of South Orchard Street where he thought a party was occurring.
According to a police incident report, a 22-year-old woman called the Madison Police Department around 10 p.m. Saturday night in response to banging on the front door of her home and sounds of someone attempting to enter the house.
Eric Griffin, who has no permanent address, told police he heard rumors of a party in the area while at a bar earlier that evening, the report said.
Griffin tried to enter the home but the front door was locked, according the report. He then attempted to enter the house using the back door, which was also locked.
When police arrived at the house, they found Griffin walking around the neighborhood and arrested him for a parole violation.
