UW graduate programs ranked among top on “Best Graduate Schools” list

Twelve University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate degree programs were ranked on the 2014 U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Graduate Schools” list, which was released Tuesday.

The report ranked graduate programs based on program quality, admissions selectivity, job placement statistics and graduates’ salary data. The report includes separate lists for each academic subject.

UW-Madison’s sociology graduate program tied for the highest among sociology graduate programs in the country. The psychology program was the university’s next highest, ranking ninth place followed by the education program, which ranked tenth.

Additionally, the university had six programs ranked in the top 20 of their fields, including economics, history, political science, library and information systems, English and engineering.

Other UW-Madison schools ranked in the top 40 on the list, including the schools of medicine and public health, law and business.
