J.J. Watt visits UW for update on his foundation

Houston Texans defensive end and former Badger J.J. Watt visited the University of Wisconsin-Madison Wednesday to update the Law and Entrepreneurship Clinic on the status of his charity, the Justin J. Watt Foundation.

The clinic, staffed by UW-Madison law school students, helped Watt create his foundation in 2010 to provide athletic equipment and after-school athletic programs to schools in Wisconsin and Houston that do not have the resources to do so, according to the foundation’s website.

The foundation has provided athletic equipment, including footballs, jerseys and flag-football flags to 30 schools in the Milwaukee area, as well as funding five soccer programs near Racine, according to a university release.

Watt visited UW-Madison to consult with clinic law students about the foundation’s recent expansion into the Houston area, where Watt plays in the National Football League.
