A University of Wisconsin-Platteville student will fill the Board of Regents seat formerly held by a UW-Madison student, pending approval from the state Senate.
Gov. Scott Walker announced Monday that he has appointed Joshua Inglett as the “traditional student” representative on the Wisconsin System Board of Regents. He also appointed two citizen regents.
The Wisconsin State Senate still needs to confirm the appointments.
Two students, one “traditional” and one “non-traditional” serve two-year terms on the 18-member Board of Regents. Both student regents must be enrolled in undergraduate programs at a UW institution, but non-traditional students must have a college experience different from typical students. The current “non-traditional” student, Tracy Hribar, is married with four children, two of whom are college graduates. She worked as a manager at a trucking company before returning to get an undergraduate degree from UW-Parkside.
Inglett, a Portage, Wis., native, is majoring in Engineering Physics and minoring in Mathematics and Business Administration. UW-Madison senior Katherine Pointer formerly held Inglett’s student seat on the Board of Regents.
Walker’s two citizen regent appointees are Margaret Farrow and Janice Mueller. Citizen regents serve terms lasting seven years.
Farrow previously served as the first female lieutenant governor under Gov. Scott McCallum. She was also a Republican representative in the Wisconsin State Assembly and Wisconsin State Senate.
Mueller served as the state auditor within the Wisconsin Legislative Audit Bureau.
