Famous Madison pizzeria Ian’s is holding its inaugural National Pizza Eating Championship Saturday, when pizza lovers will compete for a $1,000 first-place prize, according to a press release.
The release said Ian’s Pizza is known across the Midwest for its innovative 24-inch pizzas, including its famous Mac n’ Cheese, Drunken Ravioli and Burrito pies.
The first place eater will take home $1,000 and a trophy, followed by a $700 second-place prize, a $400 third-place prize, $100 fourth-place prize and $50 fifth-place prize, according to the release.
The competition will begin at 2:30 p.m. at Ians’, located at 100 State Street.
