UW-Madison groups to represent university at South Madison Festival Saturday

The University of Wisconsin-Madison will continue its tradition of outreach in the community by participating in the annual Celebrate South Madison festival Saturday, according to a university release.

The festival, which is organized by the South Metropolitan Planning Council, will feature choir performances, live music and dances to reflect the neighborhood’s diversity, according to the release.

Several UW-Madison groups will be representing the university including the Morgridge Center for Public Service, the Nelson Institute’s Capstone Seminar and Slow Food UW. Additionally, journalism students under Associate Professor Young Mie Kim will be live-tweeting and videotaping the event on savorsouthmadison.com, according to the release.

The festival will take place rain or shine at the Labor Temple at 1602 South Park Street from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The festival is free and open to the public.
