Ruth Ozeki, author of this year’s Go Big Read Book, “A Tale for the Time Being,” will visit the University of Wisconsin-Madison Monday to meet with students and give a public lecture as part of the Distinguished Lecture Series.
Go Big Read, the university’s “common reading program” is designed to help engage the campus community in a discussion and serve as a platform for the exploration of important issues.
Ozeki, a Zen Buddhist priest, said the book tackles issues such as cyberbullying and suicides in an interview with The Daily Cardinal.
The talk will be followed by a question-and-answer session moderated by Timothy Yu, an associate professor of English and director of the Asian American Studies Program at the university.
The event will be hosted by Chancellor Rebecca Blank and will begin at 7 p.m. in Varsity Hall in Union South.
