The University of Wisconsin-Madison’s first Campus Sustainability Day to recognize the successes, challenges and innovation of sustainability in higher education, will take place on campus Wednesday.
The day’s events will focus on three goals in campus sustainability: research, involvement and academics.
At 11 a.m. in Union South, Sustainability Research and Education Director Craig Benson will discuss how campus is linking research and academics to mindful living habits. A locally produced, organic lunch at Slow Food UW Cafe starts at 11:30 a.m. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about how to get involved with organizations within the Sustainability Council.
At the Sustainability Academics Information Session, advisors will discuss how they relate sustainability to their respective programs. The session will start at 2 p.m. in Union South.
All events are open to the public.
