Women's Soccer:

In a disappointing finish in Bloomington, Ind., the Wisconsin women’s soccer team (4-5-1 Big Ten, 9-6-2 overall) was shutout 1-0 by conference foe Indiana (6-4-0, 13-4-1) in the Badgers’ final road match of the regular season Sunday.

The Badgers were looking to return to the success they found on the road earlier in the season, after losing two of three on their recent home stand, but Sunday’s game proved to be a different story.

Wisconsin led the Hoosiers in shots on goal 6-2, but struggled to get the ball past Indiana’s senior goalkeeper Shannon Flower. The game’s lone goal came in the 78th minute on a header by junior midfielder Abby Smith with an assist by redshirt junior midfielder Monica Melink.

After Indiana netted it's goal, Wisconsin brought the offensive pressure knowing that this game would be important in seeding for the Big Ten tournament. Having lost four of their last five conference matches and with only one game remaining on the schedule, it is a must win for the Badgers.

The team will take on Northwestern, Saturday Nov. 2 in the last regular season home game.
