Giorgio Armani spring/summer 2014 Collection
As the final day of Milan Fashion Week approached, Giorgio Armani extinguished any lingering feeling that the main themes of MFW’s spring 2014 were those of youthfulness and energy.
Models ambled down a runway filled with subdued light. Armani enhanced his fantastically original ideas by matching some calm hues of gray and brown with a refreshing palette of sky blues and pinks. This color combination added a unique excitement and virtuous side to his primary designs of softness and gentleness.
Markedly, long-sleeved ruffled blouses and slim curved skirts really allowed Armani to create ladylike looks. His use of sheer fabric offered a more voluptuous vision amid his soft designs.
Armani paired next season’s accessories and shoe trends with large earrings, super-sized necklaces and mesh-material sandals. His affection towards real women insists upon designs that are not rigid, but rather beautiful and wearable for every woman.
Versace spring/summer 2014 Collection
Donatella Versace has been interpreting rock chic fashion in innovative and versatile ways over the years, but she undoubtedly reached a peak during her Milan Fashion Week spring/summer 2014 collection.
Notably, Versace truly made a regenerated statement with her rendition in rock chic trends, especially by adding flower printings and pastel colors.
Lace and glitter fabrics also afforded Versace an additional angle to original rock chic appearance: One can look totally feminine with pastel tones and flower printing flare skirt, or take a more fierce approach as a heavy metal rocker by wearing glitter fabrics along with black linen shorts. Various types of chain accessories also contributed to Versace’s wild and daring designs to enhance woman’s identity.
In general, Versace’s rock chic designs were not substandard, but instead had luxuriousness and richness as a result of Versace’s challenge to focus on details.
Just Cavlli spring/summer 2014 Collection
When it comes to the fashion of “heavy yet glamorous” styling, Roberto Cavalli’s youthful second line, Just Cavalli, never disappoints. Whatever Cavalli designs, his trademarks — modern abstract style, leopard print, multi-colored space dye and variety of patterns — are always familiar.
Dreamily profound music was heard as the show began. Music suddenly changed into rave-disco tunes, and Cavalli’s first model walked down the runway, wearing more than six different prints.
Roberto Cavalli also enjoyed playing with varying forms and patterns. Highlights of his collection included slip dresses, leggings, jeggings, bra tops, button-up tops, sundresses and plaid skirts. Cavalli complemented these with surreal and unique patterns — floral, animal, leopard, glitter, squares and even transparent fabrics — along with the vivid and bold hues.
Interestingly, Roberto Cavalli also added the basic and modern pattern of choice to these bright and multitudinous styles, which was a huge variation on the Cavalli trend. A mismatched floral blazer top and black-and-white cutout dress were innovative. This flamboyant collection may look “over-done,” but we all need a vibrant and bold palette, rather than just pale and simple, once in a while.
