An intoxicated patron of Whiskey Jacks Saloon was arrested at approximately 12:39 a.m. Friday for attacking a bouncer, according to a report filed by Madison Police Department’s Public Information Officer Joel DeSpain.
The suspect, Theodore Taylor, became violent after a bouncer told him to leave on account of his “sagging” pants. Taylor responded by punching the bouncer in the face. Taylor was detained at the intervention of a second bouncer and later arrested.
“A second bouncer took the suspect to the ground following the blow, and held him down until police arrived,” DeSpain said in the report.
Whiskey Jacks’ unpublicized dress code appears to prohibit “sagging” pants and sideways baseball hats. The incident Friday was not the first time the dress code has sparked violence. April 25, April 9 and Oct. 28 mark the most recent altercations resulting from the policy’s enforcement.
