A teenage theft ring struck Sports World shop on State Street Monday, according to a police report.
Madison Police Department spokesperson Joel DeSpain said in the report police are seeking “around a dozen” adolescents, both male and female, in connection to the incident.
The suspects allegedly shoplifted nearly $700 worth of North Face merchandise from a rack set up outside the store, located at 510 State St., DeSpain said in the report. The crime was reported at approximately 3:30 p.m.
According to the report, the teenage criminals then boarded a bus and traveled to the Macy’s at Hilldale Mall, located at 702 N. Midvale Blvd. They reportedly stole $2,500 worth of Polo merchandise.
Police have not identified nor arrested any individuals they believe took part in the thievery.
