Democratic Lawmaker Voices Frustration on Facebook During Walker’s Address

State Rep. Christine Sinicki, D-Milwaukee, caused a stir among Wisconsin StateAssembly members Wednesday night when she uploaded a profane Facebook post during Gov. Walker’s 2014 State of the State address.

“OMG… this speech is so full of s***,” Sinicki posted. “Wish I could get up and walk out.”

The statement, along with several other frustrated posts, yielded a mixed reaction from constituents. Numerous Facebook friends came to Sinicki’s defense, commenting on her posts with supportive voices.

However, some members of the Assembly found the post to be offensive, and Assembly Speaker Rep. Robin Vos, R-Burlington, called on Sinicki to make an apology.

"What a disappointment. She should be embarrassed," Vos said. “She should definitely apologize to her constituents. They sent her here to do a job, not have a tantrum."

Sinicki has since clarified her intentions. “My post about the SOS address was not aboutWalker, it was about his speech,” she said in a Facebook post just three hours after herfirst post. “I will not apologize for my remark, but I will apologize for swearing,” Sinicki said.
