The University of Wisconsin-Madison Transportation Services website now features a tool to help drivers find vacant visitor parking in Madison.
The site categorizes garages and ramps by campus region and shows the number of vacant stalls. Visitors can then find an appropriate parking structure by clicking on the map link, according to the website.
Transportation Services recently completed the installation of access equipment in parking structures around campus to track available parking in real-time, according to the site.
Stalls for disabled parkers, residential parking spaces and motorcycle stalls are not included in the count of vacant stalls.
Transportation Services has offered this service before, but now the website features the tool more prominently on the site, according to the site.
“Whether your department is hosting a visitor, you’re a student whose parents are coming to drop off clean laundry or you’re an employee who usually takes the bus, there’s no need to drive around with crossed fingers hoping to find a spot,” the site said.
