President Barack Obama will visit the Milwaukee area Thursday as part of his post-State of the Union speech, according to a report from The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel..
The president will also visit Maryland, Pittsburgh and Nashville during the week after delivering his speech Tuesday night
No further details regarding the time and place of the president’s visits have been released.
The State of the Union speech will focus primarily on the country’s economic issues, according to a statement from White House senior advisor Dan Pfeiffer.
“It will be an optimistic speech. Thanks to the grit and determination of citizens like you, America has a hard-earned right to that optimism,” Pfieffer said. “Five years after the President inherited the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, our businesses have created more than eight million new jobs in the past 46 months, and they're primed to create more.”
