Ernst & Young LLP, a professional services firm based in London, pledged $1.1 million to the Wisconsin School of Business, according to a Wednesday business school press release.
More than three quarters of the contribution will be used to fund the Global Mindset Leaders Program, which is designed to introduce students to the social and cultural diversity of business. The program will aim to promote this idea in the classroom, workplace and business environments by establishing extracurricular activities, the release said.
Additionally, this portion of the gift will help to create the Global Mindset Scholars program, which will offer scholarships and support outreach efforts to minority students, according to the release.
The rest of the gift will go towards other programs within the accounting department.
The gift makes EY the first corporate business to pair with the Wisconsin School of Business Innovation Fund, which focuses on projects impacting large numbers of students, providing transformational experiences and incorporating faculty research, according to the release.
