Jesse Kremer announced Monday he will run for the 59th state Assembly seat currently held by state Rep. Dan LeMahieu, R-Cascade, who will not seek re-election in November.
Kremer served in the Wisconsin National Guard and currently volunteers as a firefighter. He also said he is “extremely proud” of his community and wants to make a difference.
“I love to do service,” Kremer said.
Kremer said “ensuring freedom and liberties remain intact” for the people of Wisconsin is one of his priorities if elected.
Kremer said he supports the recent fiscal policies Gov. Scott Walker and the current legislature has enacted in Madison. He also said government should not spend people’s money just because it can.
“We are stewards of the money we are given,” Kremer said.
Kremer said his youth sets him apart from the other candidates. He stressed he is not wealthy nor politically connected but said he understands what the people in his community want.
“I can stand in everybody else’s shoes, I’m not disconnected,” Kremer said.
