Three black males in their thirties, one carrying a handgun, entered an unlocked residence on the 400 block of West Mifflin Street at approximately 7:10 p.m. Sunday, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.
The suspects took the victims’ cell phones and one of their wallets, and then demanded they go into a closet before leaving on foot, according to the report. No one was injured.
The cell phones were discarded by the suspects near the scene of the incident and tracked by MPD officers, according to the release.
MPD has not found the suspects, despite attempting to track them with police dogs, the release stated.
University of Wisconsin-Madison students were informed of the incident through an alert sent by UWPD and were advised to avoid the area of the robbery until further notice. The warning was later lifted.
