UW-Madison freshmen, seniors responding to national survey

The National Survey of Student Engagement emailed survey invitations to University of Wisconsin-Madison freshmen and seniors last week asking students for sincere feedback on their experiences at the university, according to a news release.

The survey asks questions about student life in and out of the classroom, centering on academics, learning communities and students’ communication with faculty, according to the release.

Though NSSE is nationally-administered, UW-Madison will review and respond to the results.

In previous years, results indicated students expressed a want for more academic and career advising as well as more resources for freshmen.

The results led to UW-Madison’s First-Year Interest Groups as well as an expansion of the Center for the First-Year Experience.

The survey, which is organized in part by the Office of the Provost, will continue through April and results will remain confidential.
