Madison police arrested two 24-year-old men for disorderly conduct and battery of a 28-year-old victim Saturday evening, according to an incident report from Madison Police Department spokesperson Joel DeSpain.
The 28-year-old Illinois man and his family were walking along the 20 block of North Pinckney Street when the two suspects approached them and started making inappropriate comments directed to the man’s girlfriend, according to DeSpain.
The victim tried to avoid confrontation with the hecklers before one attacked the Illinois man, DeSpain said.
According to DeSpain, one suspect punched, kneed and kicked the man, leaving him with an array of injuries to his jaw and a finger.
The victim’s father was able to ward off further blows to his son by holding down the suspect. DeSpain also said two bouncers from a local restaurant aided the father in holding down the aggressor until Madison police arrived at approximately 6:43 p.m.
