Two University of Wisconsin-Madison sophomores won the Desire 2 Learn Edge Challenge for their creation of MySyllabiMadison.com, a planning tool to help students manage activities and academics, according to a university press release Wednesday.
The two winners, Drew McLean and Jake Schieber received $10,000 along with the award, according to the release.
Students, faculty and clubs can use MySyllabiMadison.com to help sort out numerous class syllabi as well as manage various organization events.
Co-founder McLean said in the release numerous paper syllabi are often inefficient and make it harder for students to keep track of assignments.
McLean said his experience working on the project demonstrated the value of wholeheartedly pursuing one’s goals.
“The D2L competition has taught me to never give limits to what you can achieve,” McLean said.
The Desire 2 Learn Edge Challenge aims to encourage students to design and create innovations for the future.
