The 100 block of King Street will close Friday due to construction, and through traffic from East Main Street to South Pinckney Street will close April 7 until mid-June.
RG Huston, a construction company, will work alongside the city of Madison to begin reconstruction of the 100 blocks of King and East Main Streets.
All through traffic will close on the 100 block of King Street throughout the duration of the project, which is expected to be completed by mid-June. All traffic from East Main Street to South Pinckney Street will remain open until April 7 when this route will also close until the project is complete.
The 100 block of South Pinckney Street will convert to two-way traffic to accommodate street parking during the project.
The Tenney Parking ramp can be accessed through Webster Street during construction.
Changes to four Madison Metro bus routes starting Friday can be accessed through the city website. The city of Madison also created a guide for drivers to access King, East Main and South Pinckney Streets during construction on an online Downtown Get Around Guide.
