A group of eight community leaders will lead a free public discussion on racial relationships in Madison Thursday, according to the Cap Times.
The event, “Together Apart: Talking Across the Social Divide,” will delve into racial differences between African American and white communities in the Madison area, according to the Cap Times. Panelists will discuss how to bring the communities together over issues such as education, crime, housing and the economy.
NPR’s Vice President for Diversity and award-winning journalist Keith Woods will moderate the panel, according to the Cap Times. Woods aims to help NPR and member stations fortify the breadth and depth of diversity throughout NPR content, staff, audience and work environment, according to NPR’s official website.
The Cap Times said the panel discussion is part of its broader effort to address race inequalities in Madison.
“Together Apart” begins at 7 p.m. at First Unitarian Society, 900 University Bay Dr., according to the Cap Times.
