The 300 block of North Frances Street, between West Johnson Street and University Avenue, will close to through traffic beginning 7 a.m. Thursday through Friday afternoon.
Stevens Construction Corporation and its subcontractors plan to set up equipment to disassemble a tower crane during the closure, according to a news release.
According to the release, traffic can access North Frances Street to the Fluno Center parking ramp from the north as well as the University of Wisconsin-Madison Lot 43 from the south.
Pedestrians can travel on the west side of the street and access all businesses during the closure, according to the release.
Madison Metro bus routes remain unaffected by the closure, according to the release. The city encourages motorists and bicyclists to take alternative routes to avoid delays.
