J.H. Findorff & Son Inc., a Madison construction company, will close the intersection of Langdon Street and Wisconsin Avenue from April 11 to May 15 to begin installing underground utilities and roadway improvements for the Edgewater Hotel project, according to a city release.
The Edgewater redevelopment plan “will create a vibrant destination at the intersection of Madison’s downtown, the Lake Mendota waterfront, state and local government and the University of Wisconsin,” according to Findorff’s website. The hotel includes 189 hotel rooms and suites.
Metro Bus Service will be re-routed during the closure. While local access to residences and pedestrian traffic on the south and west sides of the intersection will remain open at all times, motorists and bicyclists are encouraged in the release to use alternate routes to avoid delays.
Findorff will reopen the intersection April 25 to 27 to accommodate the Crazylegs Classic, an 8K run and 2 mile walk.
