Concerned employees from an establishment at 100 King Street contacted Madison police early in the morning April 10 when 22-year-old Terrell Burns failed to pay his outstanding bar tab, according to Madison Police Department Public Information Officer Howard Payne in an incident report.
After Burns attempted to pay his tab with a declined credit card, he left alternative forms of identification as collateral while he located the means to pay the tab, according to Payne.
Staffers told police they were unsure Burns would return to settle his bill. Once found, Burns ran away from the aforementioned staff members.
One of the female staffers told police Burn ran directly into her, and when she made attempts to restrain him, he bit her forearm, at which point other staffers came to her aid.
Burns was restrained by the staff members until Madison police arrived at the establishment and placed Burns in custody and the tab was paid, according to Payne.
