The city of Madison will close West Dayton Street from April 29 to May 2 for construction, according to a Monday city release.
Speedway Sand and Gravel Inc., a sand and gravel supplier, plan to begin excavating and installing utilities for a local project, according to the release.
Through-traffic will not be able to travel the 400 block of West Dayton Street between North Bassett and North Broom Streets from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The city will reopen the street to two-way traffic after 5 p.m., according to the report.
Local residents will maintain access to the 400 block at all times, and pedestrians will have access to the south side of West Dayton Street. However, the report indicates motorists and bicyclists should use alternate routes to avoid delays, according to the report.
