Madison ranked best place to live for 2015 by Livability.com

Livability.com ranked Madison as the best place to live for 2015 after considering more than 2,000 other cities, according to a city of Madison news release.

Livability.com ranked cities according to scores in eight categories. Madison stood out in categories such as affordable housing, entertainment, health care options and education resources. City infrastructure and transportation were the city’s only weak areas.

Mayor Paul Soglin is proud to receive this honor, according to the Livability website. He told Livability.com the most important idea is that the city should work for everyone.

This idea can be seen from downtown Madison where new construction is creating affordable living opportunities, according to Livability.com.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison and Madison’s role as the state’s capital help support the city’s stable economy and thriving population, according to the website.

Livability.com made the rankings with a research team at the Martin Prosperity Institute at the University of Toronto, according to the release.
