Any eligible person still wishing to register to vote before the Nov. 4 elections must now do so in person at the City Clerk’s Office, according to a City of Madison press release issued Thursday.
Previously, eligible voters were able to register to vote through mail, through a Special Registration Deputy or at the library, but the deadline for these methods of registration passed Wednesday, Oct. 15.
For eligible voters who missed registering before Oct. 15, the City Clerk’s Office will be open and registering voters from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. every weekday between Oct. 20 and Oct. 31, according to the release.
While photo ID will not be required at the polls, prospective voters must bring a proof of address in order to register, the release said. Proof of address documents include Wisconsin driver’s licenses, residential leases, bank statements, utility bills from the last 30 days, government documents and paychecks.
