Faculty and staff at UW-Madison can apply for $500 grants to spread awareness of the Wisconsin Idea, which aims to “improve people’s lives beyond the classroom,” Vice Chancellor for University Relations Vince Sweeney said in a UW-Madison release Thursday.
Launched by the Office of University Relations, the Statewide Outreach Incentive Program grants applicants with up to $500 to create various presentations to engage with community organizations.
With a total fund of $10,000, the Office of University Relations invests in education and outreach programs outside of Dane County.
Staff and faculty are encouraged to form an “experts roundtable” to allow community members to learn about a topic specified for a certain population or demographic.
“We are looking for ideas that engage and inform Wisconsin citizens about how the resources and expertise at UW-Madison benefit the entire state,” Sweeney said in the release.
