UWPD reports rowdier crowd, calmer students at Saturday’s game

While police reported a more unruly crowd overall at Saturday’s game against Minnesota, fewer students were ejected or issued citations, according to a UWPD statement.

Officers ejected 72 people from Saturday’s game, mostly for alcohol-related offenses, of which 14 were UW students. Thirty-three were arrested, including nine students, according to the report.

Two weeks ago, at UW’s last home game against Nebraska, 70 people were ejected from the game, of which 30 were UW students. Twice as many students were arrested at that game than at Saturday’s, police said in the statement.

Paramedics were called to Saturday’s game 14 times and four attendees left the game in ambulances. The highest reported blood alcohol content was .26, on par with the Nebraska game.

Seven people went to detox during Saturday’s game, compared to the six transported there during the game against Nebraska.
