Gov. Scott Walker will lead a trade mission to London in early February in an attempt to attract foreign investment to the state, according to a press release.
Walker, along with officials from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, will meet with United Kingdom business leaders who are planning to expand in the United States in the next 12 to 36 months.
“There are many reasons why international companies seeking to expand or relocate should consider Wisconsin, and we are proactively making that case around the world,” Walker said in the release.
The delegation will also meet with government trade officials, universities and business associations.
“Wisconsin companies already have great success exporting their goods and services overseas, and that success has helped grow the state’s economy,” Walker said in the release. “Attracting foreign investment is the logical next step of expanding on that international success.”
Walker and the delegation will also meet with business leaders based in Wisconsin who operate in the U.K. to ask for their support and assistance in promoting foreign investment in the state.
The trip to the U.K. is scheduled to take place Feb. 9 to 13.
