Madison police arrested a 26-year-old man who was responsible for triggering multiple accidents Saturday morning on the West Beltline Highway, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.
The suspect, Deontae M. Webster, crashed his vehicle into a Badger Bus van. The driver and the second passenger did suffer non-life-threatening injuries, but there were no other passengers or school children on board, MPD Public Information Officer Joel DeSpain wrote in the report.
Detectives spotted Webster driving dangerously and erratically at 100 miles per hour just before the accident, and quickly apprehended Webster following the incident after he fled his car.
The two additional accidents brought on by the first crash did not result in serious injuries.
Police arrested Webster for second degree endangerment and operating while under the influence, according to DeSpain. The officers searching his car found copious amounts of drugs and cash in Webster’s vehicle.
