A 27-year-old Cuba City man was hit in the head with a beer bottle while walking down State Street Sunday, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.
The incident, which occurred at 1:50 a.m., happened on the 100 block of State Street.
The victim, who was visiting Madison for the weekend, does not know why he was attacked, but he is sure he lost consciousness, MPD Public Information Officer Joel DeSpain wrote in the report.
Others accompanying the victim were reluctant to contribute any information to the police.
After the assault, the victim was sent to the hospital. His head wound from the incident required staples, according to DeSpain.
