Police suspect Williamson Street robbery to be drug-related

Three gun-wielding suspects forced their way into and attempted to rob a residence on the 1400 block of Williamson Street Thursday, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.

The suspects fled the scene, but police arrested one of the three, 20-year-old Jam'e A. Coleman, Jr., in Sun Prairie following helpful descriptions from uninvolved witnesses describing the getaway vehicle and its license plate, according to MPD Public Information Officer Joel DeSpain.

While the two other suspects, both described as males in their 20s, remain at large, evidence suggests that the incident was a targeted and drug-related robbery, DeSpain wrote in the report.
