Rates for student and faculty parking permits will not change for the 2015-’16 school year, according to a press release from UW Transportation Services.
Similarly, faculty bus passes will remain at $24. This is good news for people who commute to campus, as these yearlong permits allow students and faculty to park on campus, Associate Director of UW Transportation Services Casey Newman said. Parking rates for visitors will also remain constant.
Newman said UW Transportation Services is currently in the third year of a six-year plan to consolidate their three rate levels for baseline permits to only two levels. The current three levels include base lot, afternoon and night surface and garage permits.
The six-year plan will create one permit for all garages, ramps and high-demand surfaces and another with everything else.
The rates will remain constant because of a delay in hospital garage construction and cost savings on various other construction projects and programs, according to the release.
