For UW System President Ray Cross, March will be filled not only with basketball, but visits to various state colleges and universities for conversations about Gov. Scott Walker’s proposed state budget.
Cross’ next stop on the tour that will stretch into early April is UW-Madison, where he will address students, faculty and staff Monday and encourage questions from the crowd.
“We are also using these opportunities to update our campus communities about the budget process, our efforts to work with the legislature to reduce the proposed cut and secure new flexibilities for the UW System, and our progress on the business and operational reforms we set in motion last year to help transform the UW System for the future,” Cross said in a UW System release.
Other budget conversations will take place at UW-Green Bay, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Parkside, UW-River Falls, UW-Eau Claire and UW-Stout.
Cross is scheduled to end his tour with a two-day Board of Regents meeting April 9 and 10 at UW-Waukesha.
