Four separate shooting incidents reported Tuesday night

Callers reported to the Madison Police Department four separate incidents of shots fired in the city starting at 9 p.m. Tuesday, according to an incident report.

The only reported property damage occurred from the first incident. A Piccadilly Drive resident said in the report she heard a loud bang outside her home that evening and later discovered damage to the rear windshield of her car.

The incident appeared to be a random act of gun violence, MPD Public Information Officer Joel DeSpain wrote in the report.

A citizen later reported hearing a “gah-boom” and seeing a dark-colored van driving away from Jana Lane at about 9:20 p.m., according to the report.

Other callers told MPD they heard several shots fired from around the 700 to 800 blocks of North Thompson Drive around 12:25 a.m. and possibly from the area of Turbot Drive and Fish Hatchery Road in the south district after 1 a.m.
