A man punched a victim in the jaw in an apparently unprovoked assault on Frances Street early Saturday morning, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.
The victim was walking in front of the Frances Street parking garage at 2:30 a.m. with his friends when the suspect approached him.
The suspect, a white man with brown hair who was wearing a gray sweatshirt, confronted the 23-year-old Madison man, reportedly wanting to fight.
He hit the victim once in the jaw, causing “significant injury,” according to the report.
Respondents took the victim to a local hospital.
