Madison police arrested a 20-year-old homeless man Tuesday for “lewd behavior” after exposing himself Monday afternoon during a funeral memorial service.
The suspect, Ishmael D. Riley, committed indecent acts Monday inside the Overture Center for the Arts on the 200 block of State Street, Madison Police Department Public Information Officer Joel Despain wrote in a statement. Patrons attending the service notified security staff of the suspect’s behavior.
Riley committed similar acts the next day at the 400 block of North Frances Street, according to police.
Officers used surveillance camera footage and interviewed witnesses to track Riley, who was arrested Tuesday evening for lewd behavior, as well as felony bail jumping and violating probation.
In May 2014, Riley was arrested for felony retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia after stealing two phones from the Apple Store at West Towne Mall.
