UW-Madison professor Ned Kalin will be accepting an award in Amsterdam this week for his work with anxiety and depression, according to a university statement released Wednesday.
Kalin, who serves as the chair of psychiatry at the UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health, will receive the Anna-Monika Prize at the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology annual conference.
His research focuses on using brain imaging and genetic and environmental influences to prevent long-term anxiety in children.
The Anna-Monika Prize is open to researchers in over 47 countries and grants approximately $22,448 to the award recipient, according to the ECNP website.
