The 400 block of West Johnson Street, between Bassett and Broom streets, will be restricted to one lane from 7 a.m. Saturday through mid-afternoon Sunday, according to a city press release.
City engineers anticipate traffic delays and said drivers should consider using alternate routes. The left travel lane and bike lane will, however, remain open.
The closure will allow for Stevens Construction to dismantle the tower crane for the 433 West Johnson St. apartment project called The Lux, according to Stevens Construction Project Manager Matt Goebel.
The project is the latest in a surge of apartments being built in the downtown area.
Goebel said the project will be finished June 1. Half of the building will have renters move in then, and the other half will be able to move in July 1.
