UW-Madison has begun its search for a new director of the Arts Institute, which helps organize a variety of arts programs and initiatives on campus.
A 13-member committee is now accepting applications and nominations, which can be submitted online, to replace interim director Norma Saldivar.
In a university release, the chair of the committee, School of Human Ecology professor Jennifer Angus, said they are looking for a leader who can coordinate between departments.
“We are looking for a dynamic leader who will be the champion of the arts on campus and beyond,” Angus said in the release. “Without a school specifically dedicated to the arts, departments are scattered across the university in the School of Education, Letters & Science, Human Ecology and CALS. We need an energetic person who will work to create synergies between arts disciplines and promote existing programs such as the Interdisciplinary Arts Residency.”
The committee will work throughout the spring semester and host final visits in June.
