Findorff will close the 100 block of West Doty Street starting at 4 a.m. April 6 to assemble two tower cranes for the Anchorbank Development project.
The closure, which goes from South Hamilton Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, will shut down both lanes of traffic. The size and complexity of the crane assembly does not allow for it to be completed on South Hamilton or West Main streets, according to a city press release.
Outer Capitol loop traffic will be detoured around the square. The city is encouraging commuters to walk or use public transportation due to expected delays at peak traffic times.
The closure is scheduled to continue through the afternoon of April 10, but crane assembly is dependent on weather. The cranes can not be assembled in gusts over 15 mph.
